Direct Dynamics
Alumnus

I'm originally from Bellevue, WA, and I'm a sophomore in the Biochemistry major at BYU. I enjoy playing piano and viola, and I'm a member of the BYU Men's Chorus. I also enjoy soccer and reading (especially sci-fi and fantasy) when time permits.

I'm currently working on direct dynamics DFT calculations of bifunctional ketone hydrogenation, specifically with Ru catalysts. Although multiple mechanisms have been proposed, we suspect that a dynamical one-step reaction is possible for many individual reaction trajectories because of the shallow energy surface of the two-step mechanism.
